With the ASP8024 in production for nearly 20 years, and thousands of consoles in use around the world based on his legendary circuit blocks, we’ve returned to designer David Dearden\u2019s roots to release the definitive version of the ASP8024 – the Heritage Edition. 20\u00a0years ago David set out to design an analogue recording console not knowing it was destined to become a modern classic. To commemorate Audient and his phenomenal achievement we have reimagined his classic design with all new enhancements and features.<\/span><\/p>\n

By utilising an american style output amplifier, classic through hole components and a British output transformer we bring you <\/b>RETRO IRON<\/i><\/b><\/span>, <\/b>a variable output mix bus with LOW BUMP and HIGH LIFT EQ. <\/span>Based upon two consoles from David\u2019s first job in 1967 at the now legendary Advision Studios in London, RETRO IRON<\/i><\/b> adds <\/span>punch and ‘vibe\u2019 to the consoles mix output. So whether your simply tracking, summing a few inputs or\u00a0<\/span>crafting a <\/span>fully blown console mix RETRO IRON<\/i><\/b> offers you that unique analogue console sound with a little bit of extra character that will put the final touch on any mix.<\/span><\/p>\n

The incredibly flexible, Dearden designed EQ offers two fully parametric bands that span from 40Hz to 20kHz, offering a powerful and punchy sound. These are flanked by low and high shelving EQ bands (with a minimal signal path) that are perfect for adding weight and air to your source and when combined with the parametric EQ, make for the ultimate sculpting tool. Don\u2019t forget, you can really take advantage of the EQ as it can be split across both the short and long faders, making us one of the only companies to offer this unique feature.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mix Bus Compressor<\/h1>\n

Based on technology from the 80s and 90s the ASP8024\u2019s mix bus compressor is known for adding a rock and roll dynamic to your mix. Often likened to classic analogue boards, the ASP8024\u2019s mix bus compressor provides that classic VCA \u2018glue\u2019 that will give your mix that \u2018sounds like a record\u2019 feeling. With improved circuitry and a slick new gain reduction VU meter for improved visual feedback (if you’ve used the \u2018gentle needle bounce glue trick\u2019 before, you’ll know exactly what we mean) it will fast become one of the most useful tools in your arsenal!
