How did we do it? The idea behind the N\u2010Matrix.
\nThe N\u2010Matrix is an expanded concept of the passive insert matrix used in the N\u2010Trophy All
\nDiscrete Mastering Console (i.e., the centre section of the N\u2010Trophy All Discrete Analog
\nConsole).
\nWe were encouraged to build it by the mastering engineers and producers, following the
\nwell\u2010received launch of our mastering console at AES NY 2024. Talking to sound engineers, we
\nall felt there was a serious shortage in the market for truly analog equipment for advanced
\nwork with inserts. We felt a real need to design a completely new insert matrix. One that
\nwould be all\u2010discrete, analog, lossless, passive, and at the same time offer much more than
\nother available insert switchers, enabling fast and intuitive operation. One that would be
\nuser\u2010friendly and fully satisfy the ideas and needs of sound engineers.
\nThis is how the N\u2010Matrix was born.
\nTo build the N\u2010Matrix, we used almost 300 top\u2010class, hermetically encapsulated relay
\nswitches with gold\u2010plated contacts. We carefully selected the highest quality components,
\ndesigned audiophile quality discrete analog circuits, and conducted many hours of listening
\ntests and measurements in our studio and lab to get the perfectly transparent sound.
\nTwenty\u2010five years of sound engineering experience were invaluable here.
\nThe entire unit is hand\u2010built in our lab to the highest standards. We have taken care of
\nevery detail. The signal path is also as short as it can be, despite plenty of the N\u2010Matrix
