Hopto has its fully transistorised and all discrete circuitry based on the classical LA 2A\/3A, inheriting the transparent and mild optical compression that works well on vocals. In fact, we would use it real-time in series during a recording session.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      A fast optical<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

      We found the modern opto components capable of a faster attack, therefore added a fast\/slow switch to fulfill its potential. The result was surprisingly great – it takes the traceless optical compressing to a lot more situations than 20 years ago. The more compression you add, the bigger and thicker the sound becomes, yet it doesn’t sound like compressed. A lot of people describe the sound as \u00abrounded\u00bb, which is also reflected on an evened shape of soundwave.<\/p>\n

      Therefore, you could use Hopto for pretty much every dynamic purpose, as long as you are after a natural-sounding result. It is still perfect for vocals alone, but does an incredible job to mixes that require low dynamics, too (RnB, soul, and gospel, etc.).<\/p>\n

      Apart from the ratio switch between 3:1, 5:1, and 10:1, we added 2 sidechain high pass filter options of 100Hz and 200Hz. As a must have for modern-day production, an HPF keeps your low end strong and solid, and works well with bass, drums, as well as the overall mix.<\/p>\n

      There is also a link\/mono switch, so that you could either go stereo by applying the heavier compressing set of parameter, or turn it into 2 mono compressors.<\/p>\n
