The EQP-1 AS+  is a Stereo, fully stepped, dual output and 1:1 replica of the most beloved Tube Equalizer in the world, the Pultec EQP-1A.

Unlike the MEQP-1AS, the + version comes with two output stages selectable on the frontal panel allowing you to choose the famous Solid State Pultec with the SA-2520 Op Amps and “A” style transformers and the traditional EQP1-A Tube output.

After retiring the MK1 in 2019 we spent the last few years developing new custom-made input, inter-stage and output transformers, as well as accurate Inductors to bring this unit back to life sounding as close to a vintage Pultec as possible.

The MEQP-1AS+ uses six Sowter Audio transformers and two custom US made transformers as well as five tubes including a 6X4 tube on the power supply famous for its “sag” on these units and two SA-2520 Op Amps for a total of 8 transformers!!

Sowter transformers, though expensive, far exceed any other offering when it comes to low end, sonic timbre and the unique frequency response that faithfully reproduce the tone of a vintage unit.

Aside from making an exact sounding replica affordable, we also wanted to make it size friendly and therefore decided to make a stereo unit in the same 3U classic faceplate with stereo controls. All switches are matched within a 0.1% tolerance and all tubes are matched for perfect stereo operation with fully stepped switches.
