New Immersive Mode: Up to 12 Optimized Channels
The most significant addition is the new Immersive mode, which allows Nova to optimize and process up to 12
channels. Users who already own 6 licensed channels will automatically be upgraded to 12 channels
upon purchase of an additional OPT2 Nova license.
Revised Clock Management
Version 2.1.3 introduces clearer and more predictable clock-management behavior. Nova no longer automatically
switches to its internal clock when an external clock signal is lost. Instead, the unit enters a No Sync state and
automatically reconnects when the selected clock becomes available again.
Automatic Bass Management Recalculation
A new Recompute Bass Management option allows Nova to automatically recalculate Bass Management
parameters when switching between compatible speaker sets.
Restart and Shutdown from the Interface
Users can now restart or shut down Nova directly from the software interface.
This eliminates the need to access the physical unit for routine system management or troubleshooting.
Keyboard Editing for Target Curves
Target curves and excursion curves can now be edited more precisely using the computer keyboard.
This provides a faster and more accurate alternative to editing every point with the mouse.
Automatic Startup After Power Is Restored
The new Auto Start option allows Nova to start automatically as soon as it receives electrical power.
This is useful in permanently installed systems, machine rooms, and studios where Nova should
automatically resume operation.
Calibration graphs in the setup wizard:
Measurement and optimization graphs are now available directly in the setup Wizard after calibration and
computation are complete. Users can review the calibration results immediately without leaving the
Wizard
With this new software version, NOVA can optimize immersive
monitoring systems up to 7.1.4 / 12 channels via Dante.
A NOVA with 8 licensed Optimizer channels automatically unlocks up to 12 optimized channels
when operating in Immersive mode. So, a NOVA 6 customer only needs 1 additional
OPT2-NOVA to upgrade to a NOVA 12. Once licensed, immersive mode automatically provides
access to up to 12 optimized channels at no additional cost per channel.
The upgrade path is therefore very straightforward:
NOVA 2 → NOVA 4 → NOVA 6 → NOVA 8 / 12 channels in immersive mode.
But Immersive isn’t the only thing coming with this release.
We’ve also extended the standard monitoring mode from 6 to 8 optimized channels. And
other improvements include:
● New Dante and internal clock management with more predictable behavior
● Automatic Bass Management recompute between speaker sets.
● Power control (reboot/shutdown), including La Remote support.
● Auto-start after power restoration.
● Calibration graphs directly accessible from the Wizard.
● Improved Target Curve editing with 0.1 dB keyboard adjustments.
● And, of course, numerous bug fixes and overall performance improvements.
This creates 2 great opportunities.
First, NOVA can now address a much wider range of immersive production, mixing,
mastering, and QC environments, especially smaller and mid-sized Dolby Atmos rooms
using Dante workflows.
Second, it creates a very compelling upgrade path for the existing NOVA installed base.
Any customer running a NOVA 6 is now just one OPT2-NOVA pair away from optimizing a
complete 7.1.4 monitoring system.
